Ways to Stretch Your Money

The transition into college calls for saying goodbye to a lot of things and for most of us that includes our jobs. Here are a few tips on how to stretch your bucks on and off of campus.

1. Eat in

Just because you have access to every fast food restaurant possible does not mean you have to eat there everyday! Cutting back on that will save you a few dollars and a few pounds. Check out your more feasible campus options like the cafeteria (you already paid for the meal plan so you might as well use it) and campus bucks.

2. Save What You Have

It's a new year and it's time for some new habits! Being that money can be limited in college, you should do your best to save a little bit of anything you receive or earn. A few options for doing so would be the spend 80% and save 20% challenge, and saving any singles or 5 dollar bills you come across. Both options will ensure you have a few extra bucks for rainy days.

3. Student Discounts

You're a student, use that to your advantage! A variety of stores and entertainment locations offer student pricing and discounts but you'll never know if you don't ask. Next time you step out make sure you get the most bang for your buck.

If you use these 3 tips when you step on campus you'll have bucks all year!
